We announced today that our information technology (IT) systems were the target of a sophisticated cyberattack and that steps are being taken for the protection of our participating providers, members, and others that do business with us.

As a result of cyberattacks on other insurance companies, we engaged Mandiant, one of the world’s leading cybersecurity firms, to conduct a forensic assessment of our IT systems. On August 5, 2015, we learned that cyber attackers gained unauthorized access to our IT systems. We notified the FBI and are cooperating with their investigation.

We will begin mailing letters to affected individuals on September 9. We are providing two years of free credit monitoring and identity theft protection services. We have also established a toll-free number, 1-877-589-3331, to assist individuals who have questions related to this incident. We regret any inconvenience this may cause, and will work with you to ensure that you have the tools and assistance you need to help protect you.
